Meridium’s Managing Director, David Stepat, and Director of Operations, Dawn Liew, spent Tuesday 13 October 2026 at the German Centre Singapore at 25 International Business Park. During the day they met clients and partners based at the Centre. In the evening they joined the German Centre Oktoberfest, organised by Martin Schweiger, a lawyer at Schweiger & Partners.

A home base for German companies in Singapore

The German Centre opened in 1995 as the first site in the German Centre network and is part of LBBW, the state bank of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Since opening it has helped more than 600 companies enter Singapore, most of them small and medium-sized German firms. Many start with a small office at the Centre and grow from there into Singapore and the wider region.

Meeting clients and partners in their own offices gave David and Dawn the chance to hear first-hand how their Singapore operations are developing and what is coming up in the months ahead. Their visits included Bizerba, the family-owned German maker of weighing, slicing and labelling technology, whose South East Asia company is based at the Centre.

Oktoberfest at the German Centre

In the evening, the German Centre community and guests gathered for the Oktoberfest. A brass band in traditional Bavarian dress played, German beer was served, and the evening brought people from many of the Centre’s companies together in a relaxed setting.

“The German Centre is where many German companies take their first step in Singapore, so spending a full day there with clients and partners was time well spent. Many of them are building out their Singapore base and looking at the wider region, and those are exactly the questions we enjoy working through with them. Ending the day at the Oktoberfest with the whole community was the perfect close. Our thanks to Martin Schweiger for organising such a wonderful evening, and to the German Centre team for hosting it.”

David Stepat, Managing Director, Meridium

“Meeting clients in person, in their own offices, tells us far more than any email can. It helps us understand how their teams work and what they need from us day to day, from company secretarial matters to payroll and compliance. Celebrating with them afterwards made it a day to remember.”

Dawn Liew, Director of Operations, Meridium
