Meridium at SWITCH 2026 in Singapore
Managing Director David Stepat and Director of Operations Dawn Liew are attending all three days of SWITCH 2026, Enterprise Singapore's flagship innovation festival, following a panel on scaling German MedTech in Asia and meeting founders and partners on the show floor.
Meridium’s Managing Director, David Stepat, and Director of Operations, Dawn Liew, are attending all three days of the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2026, held from 27 to 29 October at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands. Organised by Enterprise Singapore, SWITCH brings together startups, corporate innovation teams, investors and government agencies from across Asia and beyond. The week began for us with Start2 Group’s Japan and South Korea Pitch Night on the eve of the festival.
Scaling German MedTech from Singapore
One of the sessions we followed was the panel “Scaling German MedTech to Asia’s Health Innovation Hub”, supported by Startup Germany and moderated by Linda Nguyen Schindler, Regional Director of Ecosystem Strategy and Partnerships at Start2 Group. She was joined by Anselm Tan of ClavystBio, Fidelio Börm of Medimir Systems, Jochen Lorenz of the Bosch Business Innovations Unit and Innovation Hub (Southeast Asia), and Ryan Jin of NHG Health’s Centre for Healthcare Innovation. The discussion looked at how German medical technology companies can build their Asian business from Singapore, and how corporate partners can support young companies with both technology and funding.
As a member of the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Meridium supports German companies, in German and English, as they set up and grow in Singapore and the region.
On the show floor
Between sessions, David and Dawn visited Start2 Group’s stand. David regularly runs workshops for Start2’s programmes on setting up in Singapore and Asia. The trade floor showed how many countries now treat Singapore as their gateway to the region: national pavilions from Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Catalonia sat alongside Enterprise Singapore’s “Launchpad to Southeast Asia” zone, and JETRO’s Japan pavilion marked 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan.
Other highlights included the “Champions of AI” showcase of Singapore companies transforming their businesses with AI, among them Singtel and PSA International; the Startup SG pavilion; NVIDIA’s stand featuring startups from its Inception programme; humanoid robots at Fatfish Technology’s stand; and Slingshot, Startup SG’s startup competition, now in its tenth year. Dawn, a Ngee Ann Polytechnic alumna, also stopped by her alma mater’s stand, where exhibits included PostureMirror AI and a half-immersive head pod.
“SWITCH shows how many companies now see Singapore as their launchpad into Southeast Asia, from German MedTech ventures to Japanese and Korean deep tech founders. The technology is impressive, but how quickly these companies scale here often comes down to the groundwork: the right structure, the right people on the right passes, and compliance that runs quietly in the background. Our thanks to Enterprise Singapore for another outstanding edition, and to everyone who took the time to meet us.”
David Stepat, Managing Director, Meridium
“It was great to reconnect with partners and meet so many founders who are about to take their first practical steps in Singapore. Incorporation, bank accounts and first hires are exactly the things we help clients get right from day one.”
Dawn Liew, Director of Operations, Meridium
